Boosting Innovation Growth Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (BIGEE) Programme

Elbows bump as the BIGEE Agreement is inked by Finance Minister Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke and Therese Turner-Jones, IDB country representative for Jamaica and general manager of the Country Department Caribbean Group (CCB). BIGEE which stands for the Boosting Innovation Growth Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (BIGEE) Programme will benefit thousands of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which accounts for more than half of registered businesses in Jamaica. The Agreement will be executed under a Conditional Credit Line for Investment Projects (CCLIP) of which a total of US$50 Million will be provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) over a ten (10) year period.

50 Million USD Agreement Signed Strengthening the MSME Sector

Dr the Hon Nigel Clarke, Minister of Finance and the Public Service and Mrs. Therese Turner-Jones, IDB country representative for Jamaica, on Friday, March 13, 2020, signed the agreement for the Boosting Innovation Growth Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (BIGEE) Programme. Under the BIGEE programme, established MSMEs will be supported for innovation, growth, patent development and commercialization among others at the individual and group level at all stages of the firm cycle. MOU Signed between the GOJ and the USAID for Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Risk Finance

Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr the Hon Nigel Clarke and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator (AA) for Latin America and the Caribbean, John Barsa shake hands after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Jamaica and USAID.
