The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) through the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service was recently awarded the Newgen Impetus Award 2021 on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 for the dedication of GOJ for driving business growth through continuous innovation.The felicitation ceremony was held at the Newgen Virtual Global Customer event “NewgenConnect 2021” which was created for thought leaders to connect with your industry peers to hear their stories, share experiences, and learn about the latest trends in digital automation.
Deputy Financial Secretary of Corporate Planning and Administration Division at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, Miss Carlene Smith, expressed her elation of the significance of the award,
“Our journey to automate business processes within government started in 2015 with our partnership with Fujitsu and Newgen. Using the Omnisuite solution we have automated over thirty business process to date. Our key focus on modernization and transformation became a reality by adding quality and efficiency in operations across government departments. The automation completed thus far will improve the management of records and mails, along with several other discrete processes such as loans, scholarships and case management.”
