The National Health Fund (NHF) copped the top award at the recent staging of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Private Organization of Jamaica's Public Bodies' Corporate Governance Awards held on Friday, March 27.
This award was renamed in honour of Ms. Greta Brogues, a stalwart of corporate governance in Jamaica, who passed earlier this month.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Fund, Mr. Everton Anderson, expressed this award's significance to the corporate governance framework.
“Good governance leads to good performance”. The elated Mr. Anderson stated “We are happy again to win the Corporate Governance Awards. It speaks to the credibility of our organization and the commitment to our board and management in working in the best interest of Jamaica".
Keynote Speaker, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, the Honourable Nigel Clarke, DPhil, MP acknowledged the awardees' diligence to uphold good corporate governance.
“I want to thank all public bodies for your dedication and commitment, for patriotic spirit in discharging your functions and responsibilities in administering the resources under your supervision according to the best practices of public body governance”.
NHF copped other awards, including:

- Compliance and Disclosure of Information
First Runner Up
- Risk Measurement, Management & Internal Controls
2nd Runner Up
- Most Improved Public Body
- Best Website
- Best Annual Report
- Corporate Governance Policies, Procedures & Practices
The Public Bodies Corporate Awards 2020 was hosted virtually by the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica.
Other awardees included the Factories Corporation of Jamaica, the National Solid Waste Management Authority, National Housing Trust, Development Bank of Jamaica, Jamaica Mortgage Bank, and EXIM Bank.
