On Wednesday, April 10th, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr the Honourable Nigel Clarke, will lead the Jamaican delegation at the 2019 Spring Meetings of Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington D.C. and then attend the Fourth Annual ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development to be held on 15 April 2019 at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York.
While attending the Spring Meetings, the delegation is scheduled to engage in a series of meetings with the management of the IMF and the WB Group. In addition, Minister Clarke has been invited to speak at a High-Level Ministerial Lunch on Financing for Development as well as at various seminars on fiscal policy and disaster resilience strategies.
At the invitation of the President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Minister Clarke is scheduled to participate as a panelist in the Ministerial Finance Dialogue on "Mobilizing Finance for Climate Action" at the Fourth Annual ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development in New York.
Members of the Jamaican delegation accompanying Minister Clarke include Brian Wynter, Bank of Jamaica Governor; Darlene Morrison, Financial Secretary; Dr. Wayne Henry, Director General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica; Dian Black, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Economic Management Division; and Dr. Karelle Samuda, Jamaica House Fellow.
