Public Sector Pension Reform

Public Sector Pension Reform is aimed at making the system more affordable and sustainable for the Government while providing adequate pension benefits. The first step in the reform process was the Green Paper which allowed stakeholders in the private and public sectors to provide feedback.

Some of the recommendations coming out of the Green Paper were incorporated in the final policy document, the White Paper. This document was tabled in Parliament in December 2013 and outlines the plans for public sector pension reform which is to be implemented April 1, 2016.
